the total motile count for our IUI was 1.56 mil. We were given very slim chances that it would work, yet here we are pregnant! So I would say even if the chances are small, especially if insurance will cover any of it, give it a couple tries! We did Clomid for me, u/s and b/w, HCG trigger and progesterone test on CD 21. I think that the perfect timing of the IUI, between the u/s and HCG trigger, is what made this successful. So if you've been told IVF is your only option, maybe see what the total motile count you're working with is and give IUI's a few tries. It was sooooo much less stressful than IVF. I think sometimes doctors like to try to talk us into doing the things that have higher success rates for their numbers or money or whatever.

Thanks for this! I totally needed it I am going for my ultrasound on Wed and I'm hoping that we can try an IUI this time. We don't know how DH's spermies are doing now because the last time we had a test done was in February. He has been taking vitmains since then and cutting back on the drinking so hopefully that helped some.

One question for ya: when did you do your trigger and then when did the IUI follow?

Here's my chart...

I did the trigger at 9:30 pm the 8th and then had the IUI done at 9:30 am the 10th. I had ovulation pains around 7pm on the 10th, so I'm thinking that's when I actually Oed. I know this because we were at the White Sox game and I was like WHOA! LOL

Hmmm ok good....so hopefully the plan for us is to trigger in the evening and do the IUI two days later. Ugh, I'm so nervous!

Congrats again!
