Hi and

!
A varicocele is basically a varicose vein in the scrotum which can cause blood to pool around the testicles, which can heat things up and cause low counts, motility and morphology. However, many men have varicoceles and don't have infertility, and not all infertile men do have varicoceles. It's something your DH's doctor or urologist should check for. The surgery is somewhat controversial and doesn't always work, but in many cases it does help. Alot of us on here also have our DH's on vitamins to help with motility and counts.
My DH has low sperm count and low motility and his urologist found a grade 2 varicocele (grade 3 is the worst). He's having surgery in September. We have an 18-month old son, so the urologist thinks DH's count was much higher back when we conceived.
Hope this helps!

I hope you stick around, this is a great place to get support from ladies who are dealing with the same issues.
