Hi, First time posting here. We have been TTC since 1/09 and already have 1 child. My husband just had his 2nd SA done and the results and problem areas changed quite a bit, so I'm confused.

6/10 results
sperm count 12 mill
rapid % 30
slow% 20
nonprog 10%
immotile 40%
morph 49%

8/10 results
sperm count 42mill YAY!
rapid % 14
slow % 27
nonprog 14%
immotile 45%
morph 78% YAY!

He has been Zinc ever since the first results.
We have been trying to move down the path for IUI. Next week I'm scheduled for the SIS procedure (flushing of the tubes) and hopefully the next month we would be doing IUI.
Can these new results change the decision for IUI? I'm not sure which result is better? I know these numbers aren't terrible and I have been reading posts with much lower results. I'm just trying to make sense of all this and would love any feedback.

Hi and Welcome!! Well, the sperm count in his second SA is a lot better, it's in the normal range for count, motility, and morphology, which is awesome! The percentage of "fast" swimmers is lower in the second sample, but with so many more sperm it shouldn't make a huge difference. I would talk with your doctor about the IUI. It would probably depend if you have any known fertility issues or not. Good luck!

Thanks! Glad to finally join in the boards. That makes me feel better. Hopefully the changes my husband made over the last 3-4 months is really making a difference. I have minimal problems(as far as I know), just irregular periods, but no PCOS.
