Hello!!
I am currently the host of this board and am pregnant with my first. So many people keep asking my story so I'd thought I'd share..finally!!!
I was diagnosed with Endometriosis at the age of 18 in 2006. My periods had stopped all together and I has experiencing the worst pain ever. In 6 months, I went through two surgeries, laporoscopies, and was put on a medicine to put me in medical induced menopause. Finally, 2 years later my periods returned.
My husband and I started trying for a baby in Jan 2009. I expected it to take a long time due to my endometriosis, but that was only half of our problem. In July 2009 after no success for over 6 months, we took hubby in to have a semen analysis done. We then discovered he had a low count of just 7 million and a motility rate of 4%. I was immediately put on clomid to help my egg production and we attempted our first IUI that following August. It failed. We tried again the following month with IUI and it also failed. For the next few months after, we decided to try on our own but I kept taking Clomid just to help my eggs. In March 2010, after roughly 14 cycles, we finally got pregnant ON OUR OWN!!! I was shocked!! I couldn't believe it for days!
The previous year, our doctor gave us a slight 10% chance of conceiving on our own....and we sure did beat those odds!!
Our baby boy is due in December and we couldn't be more excited and proud.
