dh is 40 and I am 38..been actively trying for 6 months and have a ds who is 4.5 so we know we can get pregnant..
dh is type 1 diabetic and I was just diagnosed as type 2....he had a SA done and everything was good except for volume...apparently it was 0.50ml...the dr said it could be because of his diabetes...so he took him off one of his meds for cholesterol...
anyone has going through this and what can be done to improve volume..I was reading about Maca.
His last A1C was 8 which needs to come down and he could lose about 20lbs...
they are starting me on clomid (why, I am not sure..I ovulate fine on my own but only had 6 follies last month, 1 mature...maybe thats why) and he wants another SA just to confirm the last results. I am thinking an IUI would help but what do I know....the dr didnt seem overly concerned but of course I am..and all I do is google, and more googling which can really upset you even more.
Everything seems normal except for volume and egg quantity...how concerned should we be??
Hi there and ! My DH's volume is better than normal but everything else is awful, go figure! Here are a few supplements that can help with volume:
L-lysine (500 mg/day)
N-acetyl Cysteine (600 mg/day)
L-arginine (2000-4000 grams/day)
Also have your DH drink lots of water, that in itself can improve the volume.
Even if your DH has a normal count per mililter, if his volume is low it could bring the total count down enough to cause an issue. Do you know what his total count is? As far as you going on Clomid, I would ask you doctor about the pros and cons. Hopefully it will improve your chances though.
