What would you do?

Well we had our follow up appointment with my OB today to discuss the results of my hsg and dh's sa...she said everything looked great and normal, she didn't seem the least bit concerned that dh's morph was slightly low and that his motility was a grade 2...she said that changes often and is usually better when stimulated...she said since our results were normal we don't have to do IUI...she wrote me a prescription for clomid next cycle and said we can either try clomid and natural dtd to increase our chances with more targets or go for clomid and IUI next cycle...what would you do? Would you give clomid a shot or two naturally if everything was looking fairly normal with dh's sa or would you increase your chances even further, pay a few hundred dollars, and go for IUI? I am still hoping for that surprise BFP this cycle

Hmmm...that is a toughie. Since you haven't had your DH tested in a few years, you have no way of knowing when his sperm counts improved. It's *possible* that it's been this high the entire last year that you've been trying. I would definitely try the clomid and I think I would maybe try the IUI as well for an extra boost...but that's just me. I hope you do get that surprise BFP

I am happy for you that everything tested good!. me personally I would rather TTC naturally, but thats just me, I cant see spending nearly 5 grand on IUI when we can conceive at home. and there is no guarantee you will conceive with the IUI. some people have been more successful TTC the old fashioned way, but thats just my thoughts, you do what you feel is best. good luck I hope you get your BFP this cycle!.

I am still struggling on the decision but IUI for us will only be in the $250-$400 price range, we're not doing any monitoring and clomid isn't that much...wow...what would make IUI $5,000? I'd much prefer to conceive at home naturally but I don't know if we need that extra push with IUI to let it happen or what...I have a couple weeks to make my decision.

thats what we were quoted in our town for monitored IUI with meds , most doctors want to push meds because it raises the chance of the IUI being a success. if its well within your budget I would go for it then. good luck in whatever decision you make. sorry im not much help this was a difficult one for me too.

Oh ok, no monitoring here and only using clomid which is reasonable price...mainly for the fact that I have no issues that needs expensive meds....we have decided to try naturally this cycle, clomid and bding the old fashion way next cycle and if no bfp, then we'll be doing clomid/iui in January.
