Well I'm spotting, af is due tomorrow, no luck this month, moving onto clomid next cycle and praying so hard thats all we need because I really could use that $400 that IUI will cost on something else for my photography business that I really need. I am a bit down today ...just don't understand...everything is supposedly normal with us, but no bfp, my gut is telling me that poor forward progression of dh's sperm is the cause

I'm so sorry. It stinks that even with an almost normal SA now things aren't happening. Hopefully the clomid will do the trick! And if the poor forward progression is the cause, hopefully at least IUI would be a good fix for that.

I'm pretty sure IUI or maybe even IVF is in our future, too. I never thought I would have to spend that kind of money for a chance at pregnancy either

I read somewhere that if your DH drinks coffee right before dtd, the forward motion improves. I have no idea if that's good advice, but thought I'd offer it. Sorry about AF :-( I know it sucks, but you will get through this. HUGS!!!

Im so sorry hunny. I wish I could give you magic baby potion. Does your hubby drink alcohol? If he does, have him either cut down or stop completely. Thats what my hubby did (our RE told him to stop) and it worked.

I wish you TONS of luck for this next cycle. Keep your chin up darlin and DON"T GIVE UP!!!

Thanks everyone, no my dh doesn't drink at all, neither of us have ever drank alcohol...well dh did a lot when he was a teenager but that was like 15-20 years ago.

I have been hearing that drinking coffee/something with caffiene helps the swimmers to swim faster, ever hear of this? I know its not good to take in a lot of caffiene but wondering if right before bding it would be good because dh's only standing male factor issue right now is slow, lack of forward progression.

I havent heard of that but it does make sense. Maybe if thats all the caffeine DH drinks it'll help for two reasons. 1) his body wont be used to it so it'll take less to move forward and 2) because lots of caffeine is bad for the sperm...

I have heard the same thing about coffee/caffeine (my OB/GYN actually told me this, it's not just an internet urban legand) , also Sudafed 30-60 minutes before BDing can help improve motility. It's worth a shot.

Thanks, we may try the caffiene thing 20 mins or so before bding, dh doesn't drink that much caffiene but does have a sweet tea from time to time and diet cokes when we go out to eat which has caffiene. I know sudafed is good for retrograde ejaculation, which is when the semen is redirected into the bladder...I had a friend whose husband had that and she now has 3 babies from him taking sudafed....we tried the sudafed thing years and years ago but our male factor issues were totally different back then, counts were severly low then but normal now, so this may be an option to try again, thanks for bringing it to my attention.
