Anybody else in this situation with medications?

This would be my first pregnancy. I am 38; he is 39. He has one child (6yo) from a previous marriage. I think AF is starting today, which begins our fifth month of TTC. I know that's not too long in the big picture, but with our ages and my weight (40bmi) we are already fighting an uphill battle. We have not had any fertility testing done for either of us.

He's on antidepressants and blood pressure meds. The first two cycles we were TTC he was on lower doses of both and didn't have any trouble completing. The third cycle his doses increased and he never completed (in me). This past cycle he skipped the meds the day before I was due to O (according to CBE fertility monitor) and that worked, but he went back to the meds the next day so we only got one BMS in.

He's definitely healthier and happier overall on these higher doses, and skipping even that one day made him cranky for a few days after. I'm thinking this coming month I might ask him to go back to half-doses for two days in a row and see if that helps. He does still have the smaller dose pills. If we get to the point of seeing docs, he'll discuss this with them at that point, but it took a million doc appts just to get his dosages right and evened out, so neither of us want to send him back to them at this point.

Does anyone here have other tips on this problem?

My DH was put on citalopram (Celexa) for depression issues, and the first couple weeks of taking it he couldn't finish either. Now it is alot harder for him to, but he can if we really work at it. Kind of takes the fun out, but the meds are necessary. Hope it gets better for you

My guy was on meds for depression and anxiety that made it hard for him to "finish". But we finally figured out that he could in the morning...so that's when we did it. Maybe try at different times and see when he is most successful. Good luck!
