My husband had a S.A done in February... My OBGYN had ordered the test for him and she's the one who reviewed the results with us initially. She explained the numbers, telling us that things were not looking good & immediately referred us to a Fertility Specialist.
Well, we finally got into see the Specialist this past week... She had a look over his results and she's basically said what while his results aren't great, they also aren't BAD either. That my husband is perfectly adequately fertile. Clearly my OBGYN doesn't quite know what constitutes 'fertile' for a man! This news was definitely relieving, and DH was VERY happy to hear the news... but it's made us ask ourselves once more, "So WHY aren't we getting pregnant after 3 years?!"
Well... The answer to THAT ended up lying in an HSG exam that I had done yesterday. One of my tubes is entirely blocked, and the other is about 80% blocked. So basically, all this time it's been a Tubal Issue, not a Male Factor issue.
At this point we're left with IVF being our only real, promising option. But, honestly, we are just thankful that we even HAVE that as an option. I know that many couples don't have that much. Onwards to IVF we go, I suppose!
