My hubby was born with Hypospadias, so his urethra-opening is located halfway down his shaft. There are varying degrees of this condition. Some mens' openings are only a half-inch "off" and some are so severe, they're located next to the anus. My husband's is half-way. He had a handful of surgeries from the time he was a year old to try and correct it and had no success. He has to pee sitting down and when he ejaculates, it trickles down.

Also, his mother claims that his testicles didn't descend and the doctors pulled them down manually when he was 12. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? He says he doesn't remember (traumatic childhood, etc). Anyway, that would automatically make him infertile, right?

We've been together for 3.5 years with no birth control, condoms or pull-out.... No babies (so far). I have PCOS, so that may also affect it. Anyway, he has not been officially tested for infertility, but we suspect he is. His mother insists he cannot have kids. He was with a woman before me for two years (no protection) and she never got pregnant.

So, does anyone else know anything about this or have a hubby with it? I can't find any info on his condition being linked to infertility.... Only info on men who have been successful with the corrective surgery (and went on to have kids).

I hope I'm not alone...

Doing a google search I found a few men who did not have surgery to correct it and were able to get their wives pregnant. it just takes a little more practice to get the sperm closer to the cervix.

My husband was also born with hypospadias, his urethra opening is also about 1/2 was down the shaft of his penis. He like your husband spent time as a child having surgery to repair his urethra, it was never successful. We were married May 14, 2011 and were hoping to start a family sooner than later. We made an appointment with his family Dr and found out that he too had undescended testicles that never formed properly. We figured we might need some help getting pregnant but we had no idea he was sterile.
I'm not saying this is the case for you and your husband but mine had an operation on
his underdeveloped testicles at the age of 2 that left him sterile. His family failed to share this information until confronted and to this day they deny that they ever knew.
So since this news we have seen a fertility clinic and after some discussion have decided to use a sperm donor in order to be parents
My advice would be to get to your Dr, know the facts about his condition and yours and get the recommendation of a good fertility clinic.
Hope it all works out for you
