Bear with me here and thanks for reading.
DH 45 I am 34. 2nd marriage for me, first for him. I have an almost 6 yr old from my first marriage, easy pregnancy, easy getting pregnant.
We've been TTC for 7 mos and went to RE today to get the ball rolling...
Apparently DH has a varicocele from about 20 years ago. He didn't really think much of it until we went today. I knew nothing about them. Back then when he went to Dr for it, they tested his semen and he remembers Dr telling him all was ok, no need to operate.
Fast forward us TTC when he mentioned this to RE (DH too didn't realize the magnitude) RE explained the issues. Then I come home and get online and start freaking out.
He is sched. for semen analysis in a week so we have awhile for results so I might be getting way ahead of myself here. For all I know, everything will come back fine just like it did many years ago for him. But I am reading that perhaps it has gradually gotten worse for his sperm count over the years until now it might be really bad.
I know I should just wait for results before I worry but is there a chance he could have been ok 20 yrs ago and might still be? Or am I fooling myself? The info. online suggests a high likelihood that he will have a low count.
HELP!
