Is anyone doing IUI with opks only? If so how long after you + lh surge are you going in for the iui?

OPKs never worked well for me, so we did the monitored IUI with u/s & b/w. Unfortunately this board is a bit slow, so you might get some quicker responses on the TTC MA board. Those ladies are so knowledgeable and helpful. good luck!!!

Sorry Jessica, I'm so horrible w/ the acronmys sometimes! Currently we are using OPK's to do IUI- we just had our 3rd procedure on May 5th. Waiting to see wether it worked ( probably know in another day or two ) The OPK's are seemingly detecing my most fertile day(s) and after a positive result I go in the following day for the IUI procedure. The RE we're working with recommended the Clearblue Ovulation Predictor Kit which is very easy to use and detect ( smiley face= LH surge, no smiley face = try again the next day) I hope you get that beautiful BFP soon !! Keep us posted and certainly let us know if you have any more inquiries!!

Im also using the smiley face ones. Twice out of 5 months i have gotten false positives then the true 2 full days of positives about 4 days later. I dont understand why i get false ones. I go in for the iui and waste sooo much $

Hi Jessica:

How did you know you were getting false positives, taking the test twice? It's so frustrating month after month Maybe you can talk to your doc about trying something else such as fertility drugs? I hope that if this last procedure didn't work, my RE will introduce fertility drugs considering we are using donor sperm and only have 1 sample left.
Keep your head up girl ! When are you testing again?

I feel it was false because i normally get 2 full days of smiley faces. I always eject the stick to and for 2 full days it has 2 very dark lines. This time it was + then negative then back to +. And the lines inside for the 1st + were not equal darkness. When it turned + again today the 2 lines are both dark. For insurance reasons i still need 1 more cycle of natural. So i have one more month of opks until ins takes over for med and monitoring :/

I know how frustrating it is I sincerely hope you get it sorted out and it works and you get your BPF. I know from reading the tiny print in the OPK packaging that they suggest NOT taking the test out , I don't think the lines mean as much as the smiley face or blank circle but that could be what I was reading into it. Either way, it's a pain. Keep us posted !!!
