Hi ladies,

I just noticed this board and wanted to share our story in case it could help anyone else out there. DH and I were unable to get pregnant and decided to seek help. Of course starting with my dr. I had a full work up and everything seemed to be fine. So next step was the horribly embarrassing appt for DH. When the results came in we were not given a lot of info...we were just told that we would be good candidates for IUI. I called my dr's office to please explain the results and the nurse told me that he has high viscosity. (foreign language to me at that time) She said according to the results the numbers were good but his sperm was so thick the swimmers could not get to where they needed to be. She quickly mentioned maybe they would have him take tussin and that was the end of the conversation. So we went in to see our fertility specialist and he walked us through the IUI procedure, gave me a prescription for clomid so we could control the timing for hcg shot and ultrasounds and such. We asked him about DH taking tussin and he kind of blew it off and said with the viscosity issue we have its not likely to help. But feel free if you want to try it for a couple of months before we schedule the IUI. Well, DH desperately wanting us to be able to conceive the old fashioned way we decided to try it one month then do the IUI in May. Well he started taking tussin (just the generic store brand) every 4 hours about 4 days before my O date and continued to take it for a couple days after. LOL he said it tasted awful but if it worked it would be worth it.
That was in April. I o'd april 9 and on April 19 we got the most shocking 2nd line ever.

I really just wanted to share in case there is anyone else here that it could help! We were told it would not happen and now we are expecting our child to be born in December.
