It's really hard to say what you should expect, since so many different things could happen. First, a lot depends on what "poor sperm quality" means. There's morphology, motility, and sperm count... and your treatment plan really depends on what aspect is "poor." Sometimes a semen analysis has poor results simply because the guy has a virus or cold at the time he gave his sample. Sometimes it can be fixed by environmental or nutritional changes. Sometimes it's beyond help (as is the case with us). Also, sometimes "poor" means that you can still get pregnant, it'll just take longer. With us, it meant we would never get pregnant on our own, because it was THAT bad.
I guess all you can really do for the moment is wait for your appointment and see exactly how it was "poor" and what the specialist recommends. It could be anything from repeating the sample, to making some lifestyle changes, to going right to fertility treatment (IUI or IVF).
