JustMommies has reason to believe that a virus-infected ad was served some time between the morning of Wednesday (April 22nd) and Thursday afternoon (April 23rd) on a network of sites that JustMommmies is a member of. We've received reports from some JustMommies users that their computers have been infected with WinPC Defender, a fake anti-spyware application.
This piece of software is particularly nefarious in that it displays pop-up ads encouraging you to buy the "licensed" version of WinPC Defender software to "remove" it, which itself is a fraud.
It's always important to keep an up-to-date version of a well-known, trusted commercial anti-virus/anti-spyware program such as McAfee, AVG Free, etc. installed on your computer to protect against this kind of malware.
If you think your computer may be infected with WinPC Defender, you can also use a trusted removal tool to detect and remove it.
If you visited the site between these two dates, you may want to run a scan on your computer, just to be on the safe side. If you have any questions or concerns please send an email to
