can i only send messages to people i put into my contacts?

Hi there

You need to have a few more posts before you are able to send a PM. I think it's 10 posts that you need to have. Then you will be able to send a PM to any member

Yep to send a pm to someone, click their name as it appears by their post. It won't take you long to get to 10 posts at all!
