After I enter the new password for the march 09 pr private forum, it tells me the password is correct, says it is redirecting me, and then I am back at the screen where it is asking for the password. I checked to make sure cookies were enabled and don't know what else it could be.

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies or logging out of JM and back in again? I've had that happen to me before and that solved the problem for me

If that doesn't work, can you tell us what browser and version you are using?
