I tried to center my siggy and my ticker, but it didn't work. After I gave up on trying to figure it out, there's a purple background to the siggy now? Where did that come from?

I still have the original two links on there, so the purple stuff had to of come from the links I was trying to center it. I took everything out, and just reentered both links for the siggy and ticker...but the purple background is still there. Soo...

1. How do I get rid of the purple background?
2. How do I center the ticker?
