ever since I used the computer at the library and changed my password, I can't stay signed in on my laptop.

to the point that I can get signed on, I'm on the main page, but as soon as I navigate to the boards, I'm signed back out again.

I'm finally on through internet explorer, but I don't usually use IE.

It sounds as though your old password is still in the memory of firefox and it's not saving your new one in its place for some reason or that your cookies and cache need to be cleared. Try clearing those first, and otherwise you might want to try clearing your passwords too.
