Is there a post count you need before using pm's? I dragged someone here from another site and am unable to pm her, and we can't quite figure out why... that's my only guess, unless there's a setting we're not seeing...

I don't know if they increased the post count. But I can offer a few troubleshooting ideas:

1. Make sure you've enabled private messaging by going to your User CP and then going to Edit Options. The private messaging option needs to be checked. Same goes for the person you're trying to PM.

2. Make sure the person you're trying to PM also has enough posts to receive PM's. That could be another reason it won't work.

the required post count has not changed, however it can take up to an hour or so for the database to update & allow private messaging.
