The weirdest thing is happening - I'm trying to get to JM from my laptop and it's taking me to some fake looking page that says the site is under construction. I tried using Safari and Firefox, but no luck on either. Yet, I can get on from my iPhone! I was on this morning and it was fine. I have no idea what happened - HELP!!!

Hi Y'all,

JustMommies is experiencing some network issues right now. It has to do with DNS propgation and other technical mumbo jumbo. Basically, everyone's computer is having a hard time finding the computer that JustMommies lives on. The address has been fixed in the directory, but your computer may be looking up the wrong one. It will all fix itself soon enough (within a few hours or so)

Okay - maybe that is the case. I can't seem to get onto it from my iPhone now either. I got signed on from my Netbook, but who knows how long this will last! I'm not going to navigate away for fear of losing it again!

I told Apple what the situation was and they were able to tell me how to completely reset my internet settings which finally allowed me to connect to JM!

You can also refresh the cache by running the command:

ipconfig /flushdns

in your command prompt

And I can't get on again with my laptop. The iPhone let's me on though. How can I reset the Mac? The Apple guy had me delete a bunch of files but I don't remember how he got there!

It will only work if your ISP has the correct information. I had to modify a file on my computer to hardcode the IP address for the boards. I just need to remember to remove it in a few days. If you google "hosts file" and your operating system, you can find out which file to change. Then add the following lines:

204.16.73.83  justmommies.com
204.16.73.83  www.justmommies.com

It's been going in and out for me all day too. This morning, I got the same "fake" page. Then a little later, it was pulling up again fine. Then it went out for a few more hours. And now, I'm back in. All from the same computer.
