You can edit your signature and avatars in your User CP (look at the top of the page for the link).

You can put text and/or graphics in your signature - click the "edit signature" link on the left of the User CP. For graphics, you need to use IMG code. You can convert graphics to IMG code using a hosting account such as Photobucket.

You can also upload a picture from your pc for your avatar - again there is a link for this in the User CP. Or you can enter a direct link from a hosting account like Photobucket. Roughly square graphics work best.
