New board idea

I see there is a military families board but what about a public safety families board? For fire, EMS, police. The jobs carry risks and I feel it might do some good for wives to share stories. I know a lot of times when my DH is working I worry about him. Also of course open to the women on here in the professions too. WDYT?

I would go here!! My DH is a police officer and is currently in training for the state to be a state agent.

It would be fun, for sure.

I ran as an EMT-basic 4 years on a volunteer squad so I have some stories to tell. (No identifying characteristics, of course). It's always fun to hear other people's stories, too.

Ya my DH also tells me some stories, just can't name the place of the run or the pts. name or anything like that. I guess he is going to get clearance from the big boss to let me go on a ride-along because he really wants me to go into EMS also. I am not too sure though.

I love this idea!! I work as a paramedic and there are so many things that I have to think about everyday. I have been told that shift workers are harder to get pregnant, I have to think about my safety when I become pregnant, how much is okay to lift, how should I eat during shifts, I'm exposed to chemical and biological toxins everyday. it's almost impossible to temp properly because my sleep/wake schedules are all messed up and the list goes on and on. My dh works for the police too so count this as two votes!! Can't wait!

I think this is a great idea!! My husband is a fireman and it would be great to be able to talk to other ladies who go through some of the same fears and such, including if they themselves are the ones in the field.
