Maybe i am totally blinded but i thought there was a search button to search for posts or users. Can't find it.

You can get to the search feature by using the search box at the top of the boards, directly underneath the green In the News ticker. Or you can go here.

Not to be a pain, but it has been months and months, will the search function ever work again?

Let me see what I can find out. I thought it was working. This seems to be an intermittent problem. It was working and now it looks like it's not again. I'll see if I can get an update on this.

It actually was working again for about half a day maybe last week sometime, but it hasn't worked again since then.
