I noticed that there are 6350 members who have 0 posts. Do members accounts ever become deleted over time? Is there a period they must post in? Or a period of inactivity?

I think I remember Patty or Teresa saying that at one time they used to delete them but they don't anymore...I could be wrong though.

We used to delete members accounts after they were inactive for a period of time. But we haven't deleted accounts in a long time. We have a lot of members that register and read the forums and may not feel comfortable or ready to join in for a while. I have seen members join and not post their first post until a year later.

There really isn't much point in deleting inactive member accounts. They don't really take up any server space or resources - their account info just just a few lines of text in a database, so being there isn't really causing any harm.

Some are probably lurkers, some probably dropped by, signed up, and then never came back (I know I've done that on a few boards from time-to-time).

And it's not like just being registered gives you access to things that non-registered users can't see. All of the hidden or passworded forums still require that you contact an admin for access, and they require a certain number of posts before they let you in.
