Hi my problem doesnt have anything to do with this board but if anyone knows anything about computers please please help! My SO was fiddling with the desktop on my computer and somehow caused it to just show a blue screen. Nothing else, no icons, no background, nothing. Well I know the computer is working because I can hear little pop ups but cant figure out how to get the picture back! Im gonna ask my uncle but thought Id ask anyone on here if they can help. Im really stressing about this because every single picture I have of Nicole is on this computer! There's like 750 of them and I didnt back them up on any cd yet I dont want to lose all those memories. Does anyone know what I can do. Ive tried restarting it, unplugging, and switching monitors but nothing helps. Please help!

Do you mean your desk top icons have disappeared? I am not sure if that is the problem or not but if you right click on your task bar (at the bottom) you will see something that says show the desktop. Click on that and it will get your desk top icons back. I am not sure if that is what you are talking about but that has happened to me before.

Well its like the desktop was replaced with a blue screen. I cant see anything but I can hear something pop up. Ive tried right clicking or any clicking for that matter and something may have popped up but I cant see it. I even tried clicking every key on the keyboard but that doesnt work either. I dont know what to do!

*UPDATE*

I had my uncle come over and he said somehow SO changed the settings in the computer. He almost couldnt fix it but SO had to go to his mother's house to get the windows xp home edition so my uncle could reinstall the program. Now everything is fine but he said that we should burn everything we want to save on this computer and he will put windows xp professional on it and it should move waaaayyy faster Thanks for your response!
