Those are called blinkies. You can get them at the Blinkies R Us board. Here's a link...

To change your font and font colors, just drop down the menu at the top when you start a new post, one says font, one says sizes and the other is an "A" where you can change the color.

I found the blinkies I want and copied them to my desktop, now I cant get them on my signature? Also when I try to change the font it does this

Once you have the blinkies saved to your desktop, you need to upload them to a photo sharing site such as Photobucket. Then you copy the code for each blinkie from Photobucket and paste them into your siggy.

The font feature isn't working correctly for me either. Mine changes the font but leaves the name of the font at the beginning of the post which it shouldn't be doing. Are you trying to change the font, color, and size at the same time?
