Which do you buy brand name for, and what do you buy generic?

- Cereal?
- Peanut butter?
- Toilet paper?
- Over the counter medicine? (like ibuprofen, cough syrup, etc)
- Milk?
- Deli meat/cheese?
- Pasta?
- Pasta sauce?

- Cereal? Generic is fine for basic stuff like cheerios
- Peanut butter? I prefer brand name but don't mind buying generic once in a while
- Toilet paper? BRAND NAME ONLY
- Over the counter medicine? (like ibuprofen, cough syrup, etc) Generic all the way
- Milk? Generic is usually fine
- Deli meat/cheese? Prefer brand name but frequently buy generic
- Pasta? Generic is fine
- Pasta sauce? I make my own, but if buying I need brand name

- Milk? whatever is cheaper
- Deli meat/cheese? I typically make our sandwich meat. I buy whoe hams or turkeys and cook them just for that. Cheese is brand name.
- Pasta? whatever is cheaper.
- Pasta sauce? I make the pasta sauce but use brand name tomato sauce for it.

If it were up to me, I'd buy all generic but DH insists on certain brand name things. We shop at Sam's club a lot and it's either their brand for things or brand name.

Our costco membership is why we buy a lot of brand name. And the Costo store brand is generally excellent.

- Cereal? both. dh prefers generic, 13 yo will only eat brand name
- Peanut butter? generic
- Toilet paper? both, if charmin is on sale, I get it, as DH prefers it. I dont care either way.

- Milk? store brand, always, its better if you ask me
- Deli meat/cheese? store brand for some, brand for others. Our Kroger has excellent store brand hams and turkey...but I will only buy Russer brand bologna, and Land o lakes cheese
- Pasta? I make it myself most often, but if im buying it, store brand is fine.
- Pasta sauce? make myself

- Cereal? Generic except for Cheerios (I somehow think they are healthier?) and Golden Grahams (because I haven't seen a generic)
- Peanut butter? I'm a JIF girl, but DH gets the store brand generic
- Toilet paper? I buy the cheapo Scott brand. I dont' know what I'm brand loyal to cheap TP.

- Deli meat/cheese? Generic for most, but I prefer Land o Lakes American cheese

- Pasta sauce? I have a particular sauce that I love that has nothing icky in it, and I'm lazy so rarely make my own.

- Pasta? I get mine from an Amish store, so I have no clue what brand it is (it's bagged in bulk)

- Deli meat/cheese? Cheese is tallamook cheddar all the way, others generic or what I have coupon for

- Pasta? I buy what ever is cheep but I like the blue box.

- Pasta sauce? Make my own.

This is hard for me to answer because on most things I don't care only that it is cheap and what it says it is. I have found some of the true value brand stuff is all artificial ingredients so I don't buy it anymore. But I coupon and sale match up. So today I got a lot of name brand stuff not because of the brand but because I got it cheap.
