Ciao bella! Bon appetite! Mangia!
What's everyone eating this week? Is your menu full of winter comfort foods?
Sun: Beer & cheese soup, simple green salad, and a-mah-zing soft pretzels (They were so good and I'm ticked off I forgot to bring one in to work for a snack!)
Mon: Mole rubbed chicken thighs on the grill (sending DH out into the cold!), roasted potatoes, veg of some sort
Tue: Breaded pork chops in the pan, wild rice, jarred applesauce
Wed: Spaghetti with meat sauce- ground beef and/or leftover pork pieces
Thu: Split pea soup (that I was supposed to make a few weeks ago)
Fri: I bought some of that new Philly Cooking Creme stuff for an easy meal, so it will be Creamy Italian Herb chicken with veggies mixed in- prob broccoli and mixed froz veg
Sat: Taco night! (I think I meant to buy another ground beef at the store... I hope I have something in the freezer or will go next Saturday to shop!)

Monday - Cheeseburger wontons (testing out for the Super Bowl), homemade baked fries, and veggies
Tuesday - Steak stir fry
Wednesday - Build your own pizza (it is just the kids and I, so I am always at a loss)
Thursday - Kids will do dinner with my parents and DH and I will grab something on the go
Friday - Chicken Noodle Soup and bread
Saturday - Chili and corn bread
Sunday - French toast and bacon (is it Super Bowl Sunday, I really have no clue. If so snacky foods all the way)
This week is hodge podge because I spent all of my grocery money for the week already on other necessities and I need to use up meat before it gets old.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Can you share your recipe for gnocci, assuming they are homemade? I've only had them out a few times and they were just ok. I'd like to try them myself since I figure I can do it better.

Ooo I would like that recipe too. I have bought them before but wasn't impressed. I also seem to make bad sauce choices with them.

sure....super simple
3 lbs russet potatoes
2 cups flour
1 large egg
pinch of salt.
boil potatoes, then mash...turn out on to board and form a mound (as if you were making regular pasta)make well in center of mound sprinkle flour all over mound (using all the flour) add egg and salt to well and gently mix with your hands until dough is formed. knead gently until dough is dry. roll dough out into 3/4 inch ropes (as if you were making pretzels) then cut in to 1 inch pieces, flatten slightly with tines of a fork, and flick off of the fork in to boiling salted water. they are done when they float. you can make ahead, just shock the gnocchi in ice water after cooking...then add to a well oiled ziploc bag, or tupperware container, store in fridge.
toss with sauce of choice. I use a garlic herb butter sauce, but you can use any kind.
