An acquaintance of mine who has a little girl right around our toddlers' age posted a picture the other day of a full on half birthday celebration. It was Mom, Dad, and the little girl with party hats, a candle, and ice cream cake. She said that birthdays are a big deal at her house. I thought it a little strange, but to each their own, you know?

How about at your house... do you remember your kid(s)' half birthday? Do you do anything on that day?

What about for you or other adult members in your life?

Lily's we celebrate...kind of. Her half birthday is my actual birthday.

We recognize half birthday, if we remember them, buy mentioning "It's your half birthday" and that is where that ends.

Joel's half birthday is December 23...we really don't even mention it. We don't celebrate them, for sure.

Certainly don't celebrate them but I mention that the kids are a month older each month. I figure each year, each month, each week, each day and so on with God's grace for the health of my kids is noteworthy. It goes no further than that though.

No, we don't celebrate it. I just think to myself, if I happen to know the date, that Allison is a month older and last month she was 2 1/2. With Claire, it's a little different. For the first year , I like to take pics on the day but, ther's no celebration.

I think Candace does! We don't. I have the worst memory ever, so trying to concrete a couple of extra dates in there... not gonna happen!
