I'm looking at potentially buying winter boots on clearance for next year. We have size 5 boots that are great and worked both last year and this year. They are high quality that are good for outside playing here in Maine, and accordingly they weren't particularly cheap.

We have a pair of size 7's in some casual wear boots that are still giant for him, so I know he isn't likely to shoot into that size this year or maybe even this summer.

I'm tempted to look at either 7s or 8s for next year. But I dont' want to buy something that will either swim or squish him, you know?

What do you gals think? What sizes are you in now and what size were any of your other older kids wearing at 3-4?

Joel wears an 8.5....I have no idea what the other kids wore at 3 or 4, my memory is not nearly that good. Id say if you are looking to get a pair for one yr from now, I'd go two sizes....so a 7, maybe 7.5

Kaisen is currently wearing size 6. Last winter, spring and summer he wore size 5. His feet seem to grow really slowly and then suddenly he'll skip a shoe size. I'm not sure where he'll be by this spring or summer, but I'd bet he'll probably be at the end of 7s beginning of 8s by winter, unless his feet just explode at some point this year.

Joel wears a 7 - 7.5. If I were buying him boots for next year I would probably buy him 9's. He's due for another growth spurt, and with warm socks I don't mind boots being a little big. My four-year-old is in 11's this year, but last year was in 9's, so I usually plan for 2 shoe sizes per year.

Lily wears a size 5. I have no clue what size to buy her for next winter. When we first started buying her shoes (age 1) she was a size 3, so she has only gone up 2 sizes in a year and a half. I am thinking she will be in size 6 next year.

Wes wears 7-7.5. He's been in this size for almost a year now. I have no idea how fast his feet grow, lol. I am no help.
