Have you/Would you use a family name for your child?

all of the girls have family middle names, I wouldn't use a family name for a first name though I think its too confusing

In round about ways, we have for both kids. Not the exact name from the family member, but the names have come from their names.

I plan on naming my first daughter after my Mom, who passed away. I struggle though becuase her name is so common, Mary, and all the other names I like are very uncommon.
So it will probably be a derivative like Marigold or Merry so it is more cohesive with my other uncommon names.

Madelyn's middle name (Belle) is after my Grandma Belle.. she was one of my most favourite people in the world and it seemed so fitting that Madelyn carried her name. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

My son's second middle name is my maiden name. I consider that a family name.

Our next child, if it's a boy, will have the middle name Iain and if it's a girl she'll have the middle name Siobhan. Iain is the Scottish form of John, Siobhan is the Irish form of Joan, which is the feminine form of John. John is a family name on my husband's side.

So yeah, I like to use family names.

Clark is a family name and I would use that for a mn.. that's about it.

We'll always use a family name for the middle name. Jace's middle name is for my gpa William.
