My name is Alicia and I pronounce it uhh-lish-a. In school there were always 5 or 6 of us with the same name. One year there was a girl who had the same first and last name as me. Talk about confusing. My dad named me after hurrican Alicia that hit Houston in '83. He really liked the name. I think this was a popular name in the 80s, but you really do not hear many babies now days with the name Alicia so the popularity of it may not be an issue. I can tell you though no matter how you spell it no one will ever get the pronociation right. Even with it spelled with a "ci" they still say it with a shh sound.
