I work at an elementary school and we just had a new little girl start, her name is Yesenia. What do you think of it? Here's what behind the name says...
Usage: Spanish (Latin American)
From Jessenia, the genus name of a type of tree found in South America. This name was first used by Yolanda Vargas in the Telenovela 'Yesenia' (1970).
Its pretty common around here, but in TX of course we have a high latin american and mexican/mexican american population
We slur our words together often and Ye-sin-ee-uh comes out as -Yuh-sin-yuh instead and I dont like that pronunciation of it. I'd ask people around you to say it before you use it in case you run the risk of pronunciations you dont like
