Do you consider the name, Marion, to be masculine or feminine?

(This spelling only)

Masculine.

It was my grandpops name, and also looking it up on BTN it was John Wayne's real FN.

I see nothing feminine in this spelling. It looks all boy to me.

I consider it feminine.

Most of my associations with it, however, are masculine- John Wayne, as someone above mentioned, and Marion Berry, the former mayor of D.C. For some reason, someone decided that in the U.S. 'Marion' would be masculine and 'Marian' would be feminine, but Marion is the one that originated as a female name. It was a French nickname for Marie, like Alison was for Alice. Marian with an A is unisex- it's usually a female name in English but it's masculine in some Eastern European countries.
