Hi everyone. We're trying to make a final decision this week since we're 6 months now. I want to call him by name while we get his bedding and everything for Christmas We like Justin, but it's so common and next to Jordana's name it just seems plain. We also like Jacoby but even though it's pronounced juh-KO-bee people tend to read it as JACOB-ee. I guess that's a quick correction for him to make but its probably one he'd have to make allllll the time. But there is a baseball player on the Boston Red Sox with that name so he might help make it a little more well known over the next few years. Anyway, which do you think is better, or do you have other suggestions?
We're sticking with a J name, Joel, Joni, Jordana, and _________
Family names we can't use:
Jeremy
Jonathan
Jim
James
Jared
Jaxon
DH doesn't like:
Josiah
Jaren
Jayden
Julian
Joshua
Jaegan
I don't like:
Jaspar
Julius
Joseph
I think that's about every J name out there! Am I missing any? Thanks!
I really like Jacoby. I knew one growing up and once you know how it's pronounced, it's not that difficult a name. I think his was spelled Jacobi though.
Justin is a fine name. It is a bit more common than Jordana though. Another J name you might like
Javan --- prn JAY vin (rhymes with Raven). It is one of the few J names on my boy list. I must have a thing for boy names ending in -van It reminds you of more common names, but it is definitely not. Here is some more info on it. http://www.behindthename.com/name/javan
I'll be the odd one out. I like Justin. I just picture you yelling both kids names (for dinner, if they're in trouble, etc lol) & to put them together, sounds like a big mouthful! LOL
some of the names I could come up with...
Jason
Jack
Jace
Jagger
Jamie
Jameson
Jedrek
Jayvyn
Jeffrey
Jett
Jesse
Jevin
Joaquin/Joaquim

I think Jacoby is just fine and most people will know how to pronounce it (I did and have never seen it before). If they don't, a simple correction is all it will take. People mispronounce extremely common names all the time.
Jacoby! I like Jordana and Jacoby best together. Like you said- Justin is just so plain/common next to Jordana.[/b]
I really like Jacoby! and I don't think you will have that many prn. issues.

I really like Jacoby a TON better. Justin is very common & it's so plain and just like blahh. That's just my opinion. I'm 19, 20 next month and there are about a million Justins I know personally. It's kind of like having a name your parents have you know? I know you're older than me, but you're not that much older. My mom's name is Vicki.. and I just can't imagine naming my daughter Vicki. It's not that I don't like her name... it's just from "back in the day". I wouldn't want my child griping to me about his/her name later in life Jacoby is fresh and "hip" and I just LOVE it! =) Good luck trying to decide!
PS -- Jakobe would be a GREAT way to spell it! There's almost no way it could be mispronounced unless the person is just an imbecile.
