WDYT of the name Ainsley?

Do you think it's better for a boy or a girl?

AINSLEY
Gender: Feminine & Masculine
Usage: Scottish, English (Modern)
Pronounced: AYNZ-lee
From a surname which was from a place name: either Annesley in Nottinghamshire or Ansley in Warwickshire. The place names themselves mean either "Anne's field" or "hermitage field" from Old English ansetl "hermitage" and leah "field".

I'm not a fan, and I don't really have a preference of it on a boy or girl.

I think it's really unattractive and whiny sounding. Annesley sounds better (but I only like it as a surname, not a first name).

I think it's pretty but I most likely wouldn't use it for my own child. I much prefer it on a girl- I can't imagine it on a boy.

Girl 4 sure! I think that it's a sweet name - it helps that I know a super sweet little Ainsley! You don't hear it every day and I like that about it

I like it but not for my baby I have only seen the name on girls. So I like it best for a girl.

I love it! It's actually toward the top of my girl name list. I like the spelling too, but what do you think of Ainslee (since your daughter's name ends in ee)... just a thought???
