I really like the name Avery for a girl. However, I'm not a huge fan of unisex names. When I see a name written on paper, I like to know if it is a boy or a girl. So, does anyone suggest any alternative spellings that would make it definitively female. Or should I just give up on this name. Thanks for all opinions!

The only spelling i like is Avery, and i only like it on a boy. I don't care for unisex names either so i wouldnt use it either, there are lots of feminine names that arent overly frilly like

Bryony
Tatum
Tamsin
Imogen
Willow
Isolde
Mallory
Whitney
Romilly
Juniper
Juno
Verity
Xanthe

I don't really think there are any other spellings that don't look misspelled.

I agree with this.

If you like Avery, but want a name that is definitely female:

Amity
Ava
Aviva
Briony
Emily
Evelyn
Ivy
Natalie
Verity

My friend named her daughter Ayvree and she is so adorable and all girl!! I just can't see it on a boy now.
