Well me and my bf were talking the other day and I asked him his opinions on names of guys and girls. (I really like Tristian for a boy but he needs to think about it)

But for a girls name I adore the name Winter but he would prefer it to be spelled Wynter because he thinks it makes it look more unique and mysterious. I sort of like it to as i've used it for online handles only to make me stand out more however a child isn't something whose name you can just delete or change when it gets old.

I mean the name with a Y could possibly grow on me and it doesn't really look bad but i want to know if anyone would be able to pronounce it.
Like if you just saw the name some where "Wynter" would you automatically pronounce it like Winter or would you think it was whine-ter. Thats the only problem I have with using the Y is people might pronounce it wrong. But Winter is still definitely my top 2 name.

No I am not a Satanist. The 666 was a joke between me and a few friends of mine and it kind of stuck. So don't let it put you off from checking out my myspace or adding me. I don't bite.

Winter. I don't think the current tendency to misspell names is a good thing at all, it does little more than insure your child will spend her life telling people "it's w-y-n-t-e-r. No, not spelled like Winter." It looks cheesy and tacky, at worst it looks like the parents couldn't spell, and it's not unique when everyone else is doing it. Replacing random vowels in girls' names with the letter Y is a huge trend, so definitely not unusual.

Aside from all of the drawbacks of misspellings in general, Winter looks a lot better.

Yea I really prefer it spelled Winter too. But when the time comes and we have children they are part his so he should have some kind of say in it. But I think Winter does look more aesthetically pleasing. xD

Definitely Winter. And I Love this name, but my husband won't let me use any "hippy" names.
