I'm a weirdo- but I love it. I've considered it.

I don't know what it is about the sound of it- the look of it. To me it sounds strong. I try to say that it is okay to use Basil because girls are named after spices and flowers all the time. But try as I might, as much as I love it: I can't use Violet as a girls name, and probably could never use Basil for a boy.

I think that some could pull it off- just not me. If you love it- use it.

It's a name, i don't think i would use. "Basil Brush and Basil Fawlty," comes to mind.

I have to say that now at this stage in life I kind of like it. I could never use it because of my odd association though. I had a great uncle with the name and he was a veeeeeeeeeeeery country man. He was a twin Benny and Basil. They both were large men with pot bellies and very long beards. LOL

Yeah..it's one of those that would be cool on someone else's kid.

It's cute, but just a little too nerdy for my taste. It reminds me instantly of Basil Fawlty. ("You put Basil in the ratatouille!" hee hee).

it's interesting. I wouldn't personally use it but I think it would be neat to hear on someone else's kid.

I don't like any herb names: Basil, Rosemary, Sage, etc...

A popular radio jockey named his DD Sage a few years ago. I swear, for 1-2 years, everytime I went to the baking aisle at the grocery store, I thought of his DD.
