I dont care for the name on either sex but an little female Eli's will be dealing with a lot of gender confusion. I try to avoid ambigious names b/c i have seen first hand my FIL and my SILs husband deal with it- Terry & Morgan. They have gotten into confrontations with nurses accusing them of trying to use someone else's insurance cards, arguing with various people that even they they hav e"girl" names, they are in fact Terry or Morgan, etc

Maybe as a nn for, Elise, Elisabeth or Elinor. Eli, as a stand alone name, sounds way too masculine.

tbh... i don't care for it as a boys name, let alone a girls name. Maybe as a NN.

I like the pronunciation E-lee for a girl, but when I see that spelling I pronounce it E-ly which is all boy to me. I'm not sure how else it could be spelled to avoid confusion either.

Do you watch Scrubs? Sarah Chalk's character's named Elliot (i think). I think it's kinda cute. I wouldn't name a baby Eli. Probably just use it as a nickname.

This.

Also.. thinking a guy named Morgan is using someone else's insurance card is pretty ridiculous. Morgan was a boy name long before girls took it over.
