We're having a heck of a time choosing names for our suprise baby.

I realy want biblical (specifically old testament, I'm jewish) names, or names inspired by biblical names.

Girl names are way harder to come up with.

So far we are seriously considering:
Noah
Elijah (my top two faves)
Job (DH's sugguestion that I'm on the fence about- he wants to spell it Joeb, I like Jobe better)
Naomi (my choice- DH isn't sold)

I also like Eve/Evelyn, Delilah, Jude and Asher- but am not in love with any of them....

Names that are out of the running due to family use are: Gabriel, Jacob, Benjamin, Rebecca, Miriam, and Rachel

We haven't even started to consider middle names, so sugguestions on those would be a bonus!

Thanks for taking the time to help me out

I used to work with a Jewish girl a few years ago and she named her son Avner. She said it was a traditional Jewish name in her family.

How about Sarah?

Some other suggestions:
Ezra
Elijah
Israel (there is a baby in my PR named this )
Jonah
Micah
Saul (would work really well as a middle name!)

Abigail
Adah
Aseneth (I have a cousin named this... Seenie for a NN)
Esther
Mara (MN??)
Ruth (MN perhaps?)

I'm Jewish too! Glad there's another Jew on the board! My favorite girl name is Shira. It's not popular at all. My favorite boy name, which I can't use do to family usage, is Daniel, but it's really popular.

Bathsheba
Deborah
Deliliah
Dinah
Rahab
Jael
Hannah
Hagar
Leah
Zipporah
Rebecca

My FAVORITE girl's name that fits this style is Rivka -- it's a much closer version of the original pronunciation for the name Rebecca. You could call her Rivvy or Riva for short.

Thanks ladies! I could totally use almost any of these names- we're waiting on baby to help make the final decision..... so we just need a list of 2-4 names each gender to choose from.

Hopefully DH likes at least some of these... he is so picky!
