Though really, I'm starting to get the impression that just about any name is or was a surname. Start plugging just the name into Google, and I'll bet you'll find someone with that surname for a good 50%.

Yeah, everyone beat cause I was going to say Cohen too. Whenever I hear someone saying they like the name or have named their child it I think of The OC. I like it though.
