we've now decided on Albany Grace for a little girl...
It's WEIRD, we were watching Telethon & we were looking at all the names of people who'd rung in and donated, and there was a family from Albany (a suburb of a city here), and we both said it at the same time, then you could almost hear our brains ticking over the name - and in unison we said "Albany - I really like that!!!".. I saved the name in my cell phone, and we kept watching, but then we kept seeing the name Albany, and then there was some mention OF Albany on the programme, then the next day I saw it in the newspaper & Jason heard it on the radio - and we keep being inundated by the name Albany everywhere... so we figure it must be a sign....
We know we are probably going to get a lot of "what the????'s", when we tell people (when/if we have a girl of course) - but we are both in love with it, and I think it's special to us because we came up with in together.... The more we've said the name, the more we like it...
I actually think it's nice! I liked it immediately too. Even if people are shocked by it at first, it seems like a name that you can get used to and warm to quickly. Can't think of any nicknames for it but that is not necessary. Congrats on finding a name
I was born in Albany, NY! I kinda like it. How would you pronounce it? I pronounce it All-ban-ee. My bf thought it was Al-ban-ee. I laughed cause I had never heard it pronounced that was till he read the sign on our way up to NY.
I'm so glad you found a name you love!
I do like some name places (mostly as a guilty pleasure thing, I probably wouldn't ever use one).. but I admit it'd be hard for me to get used to the name Albany. I live in Albany.. (Albany, NY).. well, 10 minutes away.

I'm glad you've settled on a name! It feels so free to know that part is all taken care of! I've never heard of an Albany personally, so it is unique, and I think it could go as Abby as a nn. I obviously love Grace as a mn!
