What do you think? Can these names ever be used again, or are they just too closely associated with Disney?

I think Minnie is adorable! I LOVE it. To me it has a sweet "vintage" feel.

But there is a HUGE connection w/ Disney on both names. My 4 yr old named her kitten Minnie and while I would love to say it's because she has great taste in names, it's really just because of Minnie Mouse.

Yes, Mickey and Minnie have been associated with Disney for 80 years and I see that being the case for another 80 years. The association is so strong. They're on anything and everything.

Even when I see Minnie Driver on tv for more than a couple minutes, I'll think of Minnie Mouse. (Minnie Driver was born Amelia. I have no idea why she prefers to be called Minnie over Amelia.)

However, with that being said, I think it would be perfectly fine to have a Michael, Minerva, or whatever and call them by Mickey or Minnie within the family.

I think they could be used again, but there will always be that association with Disney exspecially if they are used in a sib set.

I live about an hour from Disney World... I would NEVER be able to name my child Mickey or Minnie! Minnie isn't terrible, but I couldn't use it due to the Disney connection!

I dunno. They will be forever associated with Disney, but a lot of people couldn't care less. They still the name like Mercedes even though it's always going to be a car.
