So, I know a boatload of little Sophias. Ditto with Jack. I liked both of those names quite a bit (esp Jack, my grandfather's name) until they started sprouting like mushrooms everywhere I look, and now I fear the Jennifer/Jason syndrome!

soo.... long intro... where would you say the following names are on the popularity scale:

Gabriel

Joel

Brice

Avery

Emmett

I love the name Avery! It is such a mature romantic name to me.

I am naming my son (well if little one is a boy) Emmett. It is semi popular around here. I am naming him after my grandpa

BTW I love the name Jack popular or not and also Avery.

Yeah, I had a feeling that Avery was on the popularity upswing!

Though Emmett surprises me - I haven't heard that anywhere!

How about Gabriel? Read somewhere that it was zooming up but of the preggo friends and new moms I know, its a non-starter.

In your circles too?

one of my boys will be named Gabriel, so I"m not sure how common it is. I like Emmett that sounds so pretty.

I love Avery and Brice (Bryce). My hubby and I would use Bryce if he didn't have a friend by that name and Avery was almost my youngest childs middle name.

I was also going to suggest the site that Jamie did. . .
I hear of a lot of Gabriels now, but I don't hear the other names a lot.

I hear Gabriel more as a middle name, and the other names I haven't heard at all.
