I too would avoid it, or perhaps try to find a variation. I've feared finding a man who's last name is Finch, because of my love for Atticus!
But, maybe another Atticus Finch (what a great name!) wouldn't be too bad?
A girl after my own heart!
My best friend made me swear that I'd name my first son Henry and our last name is Higgins. Get it? My Fair Lady? Anyway, I'm considering it as a middle name to honor her.
I wouldn't use something as well known as Bart Simpson or Brad Pitt, but I think Atticus Finch and Henry Higgins are obscure enough to pull off.
We're using Conan if this is a boy, and since it's not a commonly used name, many already associate it with Conan O'Brien (which is fine by me, he's awesome, lol)... but if our last name actually WAS O'Brien, I seriously doubt we'd use Conan. That's just TOO close, lol. Sharing a first name with someone famous is fine, but a first AND last name? Especially if it's a unique combination, is a no go.
It all depended on just how much I liked the name and who the famous person was... Like if my last name were Roosevelt I would have no problem naming my son Theodore or daughter Eleanor. I think they were great people! But my last name is Harris and I don't think I would name my son Neil Patrick....(mostly just dont like the name Neil) My DH isn't a person who cares about that kind of thing... I'm not really either but if it were a popular name that everyone heard all the time then I'd veto it..

Simpson, would you use Jessica, Maggie, Lisa, Bart
My aunty/uncle's surname is Simpson & when my cousin was born, his birth notice was in the paper on April 1st - April Fools day, and my Aunty & Uncle had "Debbie, Mark & big brother Rikki are pleased to announce the arrival of Bart......".. LOL. His name is really Corey btw..
As for me - it'd depend on how famous the celebrity had been, and how well known, but I'll never have that problem LOL
