I would only use these because they are family names:
John - many men in my hubby's family have this name
Donald - my hubby's name and his grandfather's name
Joseph - Both of my grandfathers are Joseph

Robert - DH's mn, probably wouldn't use it
Mary - MIL's name, probably wouldn't use it
James - DH's uncles name, I like it but it's way too common for me
Betty - Grandmother, I would possibly use it to honor her, probably as a mn
John - my uncle's name, way too common
Dorothy - it's not bad but I wouldn't use it
William - too common
Helen - DH's aunt, I like the name but wouldn't use it
Richard - BIL, wouldn't use it anyway because of our last name
Margaret- DH's step-grandmother's name, definitely wouldn't use it because "Maggie" as a nn has very negative connotations for us
Charles - not really a fan
Barbara - again, don't really like it
Donald - DH's uncle's name, wouldn't use it
Patricia - my aunt's name (my mom's twin) so I definitely wouldn't use it. That would be too weird
George - DH and FIL's name, definitely won't use (don't want a George III)
Joan - my mom's aunt's name, It's not bad but I don't think I would use it
Joseph - my grandfather's name, will possibly use this as a mn to honor him, but I might spell it Josef
Doris - definitely nms
Edward - I really like it but it's too common for me, I think. I'd consider it.
Ruth - I'd possibly use this as a mn, but definitely not a first name b/c of the R

I wouldn't use any of the girls names. They are nmsaa.
I have many family members with those boys names, and the only one I would ever use is Charles because I love the nn Charlie.

Robert - This is my dad's name. I have a mn picked out for another boy; but if we had two more boys, I'd use Robert as a mn.
James - I really like this name and I would probably use it.
John - I prefer just Jack.
William - I love this name with nn Will. Unfortunately, it doesn't go well with our last name so I woulnd't use it.
Richard - I don't care for this name.
Charles - I like this name - strong and distinguished. And, I love Charlie as a good ol' American boy name.
Donald - no way
George - no way
Joseph - it's okay for a mn
Edward - I love it but would never use it because I disklike the nn Eddie.

I do not like ANY of the girl names!
