It was my grandma's name... I like it but more for a middle name. When we were out shopping we met a little girl named Flossie (which was my gmas nickname) and I asked her if her name was Florence but she was just Flossie.

I like it, but I don't like any of the nicknames that go with it (Flo, Flossie), so I'd never use it as it would drive me nuts when people nicknamed her.

On my like-o-meter I would give it about 7 out of 10

It's easy to spell and pronounce and has a somewhat pleasant sound. I like that it is not typical of most girl names and the -ence ending makes it a little more unusual.

It just doesn't excite me much. I definitely would like to see other people use it, but it just seems a little dull to me.

It's nmsAA. . . just too older-fashioned for my own tastes.

I like it but I personally wouldn't use it unless it was a family name.
