I just read this article on MSN it was a feature of the TODAY show I think. I'm gonna sum it up for you. They did a search of the most awful names they could find that were real documented people and put them out there for our viewing pleasure. I'm all for unique names but seriously...there has got to be a way to stop these people.
ETA: I'm not trying to start a debate or anything but some of these names are going to cause a lot of heartache for the poor LO...some aren't completely awful.
I've copied and pasted it all here so it's long but if that's not allowed maybe someone could take it out and just post a link?

While some of those names are pretty bad, I don't see anything wrong with:

Seraphina Rose Elizabeth (Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck)
Clementine Jane (Ethan Hawke and Ryan Shawhughes)
Knox Leon (Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt)
Destry (Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw)
Aurelius Cy (Elle Macpherson)
Sage Moonblood (Sylvester Stallone) - okay Moonblood is a bit much
Tallulah (Bruce Willis and Demi Moore)

I wouldn't use some of them personally but I don't think they're horrible.

My co-worker went to school with a Sh**head and the girl pronounced it Shi-heed.

I watched Wynona Ryder on some talk show (maybe David Letterman) several years ago and she said one of her best friend's in high school was an A**hole. It was on his birth certificate and everything.

yeah like said a few of them aren't so bad...some of them I can't help but wonder what were they thinking. I actually read a thing on msn a while back about a family that named their daughter "Tallulah does the hula" Seriously. The courts got involved decided it was cruel and unusual punishment and legally changed the child's name for them.

I love those names

I also liked Ireland and Clover, but my style is kind of out there I guess.
